About Us

At Oranga Matihiko, we’re here for our communities. As a kaupapa Māori-led charitable trust,

we believe every rangatahi deserves the tools and opportunities to thrive in the digital age—no exceptions, just aroha and innovation.

Morehu Ransfield

Executive Director / Board member

Morehu has dedicated his life to providing next generation leaders with the skills that they need to fulfil their aspirations. He brings 18+ years of teaching experience in Māori Education (Mātauranga Māori) to the organisation. Morehu founded Oranga Matihiko in 2023. It was initially a learning programme that he had created in response to a growing need for our rangatahi to succeed. Since then, the kaupapa has developed into a community initiative, working with Taranaki schools and local businesses to provide them with equitable access to digital services.

Teresa Barker

Chairperson / Board Member

Teresa officially joined the team at the start of 2025. Through working with kohanga reo and kura kaupapa Māori, she brings a range of skills in governance and leadership to the organisation. Teresa has dedicated her time and energy towards building the foundations of Oranga Matihiko. Her influence has made a positive impact on our team performance.

Ramon Taua

Board member

Ramon has been a part of Oranga Matihiko since its conception. Ramon’s strong technical background in I.T., exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and mind for complex processes have rapidly improved our capabilities and have allowed us to venture into areas we previously thought impossible. Ramon is consistently pushing the boundaries and is always willing to test new ideas.
